A message from Ron Ford:
I wasn’t sure if we should or shouldn’t put anything up but I feel like it is necessary at this point. First off I hope everyone knows there is nobody who wants and needs to race as much as I do at Afton. This is a leased facility, with bills due, regardless if we race or not. This past weekend the sun did come out around race time, but the amount of water that had saturated the whole facility and the standing water on the track surface was the issue. We spent 5 hours pumping and could barely see a difference. Even so, when we do pump the water it has to go somewhere, which saturates another part of the facility potentially causing more issues. We cannot ruin the grounds just to attempt to get a race in, but trust me we are doing our best and anything and everything we can to race. The water table is so high and being at river/swamp level, it’s very hard to compete with all this rain. I promise you it is not for the lack of trying. Just this weeks cancelation alone screws up the schedule, sponsorship nights, food orders, and more. The VIP booth was fully stocked with cooked food and crock pots going, race night documents ready to go, schedule of events printed, and endless hours of preparation during the week to even attempt to race. We all know how hard our racers and teams work to prepare their car for an event, so please understand just as much goes into preparing the facility for race day. We will be doing our absolute best to try and get the rest of the scheduled events in as the weather hopefully starts to cooperates, and see where we can fit in some more events as we can. Thank you to our racers, crews, and fans for their hard work and sticking with us through this tough come back season. Stay tuned and see you Saturday.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 - 𝟲/𝟳/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱
Pit gate opens at 3, grandstands at 3:30, hot laps at 5:45 and racing at 6:30!
We are monitoring the weather. We will make the final call by noon today - please do not message before noon and ask if we are racing.
POP'S AUTO & SPEED FACTORY STOCKS: Yes, you are last this week again. That is ONLY to give you adequate time to get your first feature in, make any changes or repairs, and still make it to your heat race. Next week you will be second in the lineup!
See you later! Rain, rain, stay away!

SEASON OPENER 2025, FINALLY!
153 cars through the gates on 6/1/2025 for the Afton Motorsports Park Season Opener presented by Big E's Shed Sledding & Sales! In attendance were some real heavy hitters, which made up the field of 38 Modifieds, 43 Crate Sportsman, 22 Limited Sportsman, 16 600cc Modifieds, 14 FWD 4 Cylinders, and 21 Factory Stocks! The night ended with rain and the factory stock race being postponed. We will do double features for them and get that taken care of ASAP. There were a few highlights to the night, but most notably is Justin Holland's flip after making contact with Brad Weaver's right rear, and Jeff Bronson going over the wall in turn 1, keeping it on all fours, and coming right back out. We are glad Justin is okay and hope to see him back soon! Congratulations to the winners - Alan Barker, Travis Green, Sullivan Dickey, Gaege Higley, and Collin Mills!

𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝘂𝘁 - 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟱/𝟯𝟭
We have made the unfortunate decision to cancel todays racing activities due to saturated grounds. Water is halfway up the home stretch and the pits will be a mess.
We hope to see you tomorrow, Sunday, June 1st!
5/17 rain checks are good for tomorrow! Pit gates open at 2, grandstand gates open at 3, hot laps at 4:15, and racing at 5.

5/31 & 6/1 UPDATE
𝙃𝙊𝙏 𝙊𝙁𝙁 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘿𝙀𝙎𝙆 𝙊𝙁 𝙍𝙁
The 'Rain Date' of Sunday, June 1st will be a non-points event.
It was never our intention to force any weekly driver into racing Sunday. As much as we want the points to start, it just is not fair to any driver or team that has used the published schedule to plan family activities, commit to other tracks, or other events. As much as we hope you will choose to come out if we do need to utilize Sunday, we recognize and completely understand if you are unable to.
It is NOT considered a make up show for Saturday. This is a standalone event, if we need it.
We encourage any and all drivers to come out to the 'Rain Date' and give the RF Promotions team & Afton Motorsports Park a try! We cannot continue to do this without the continued support of our fans, drivers, and crews!

5/24/25 - RAINED OUT
Good afternoon folks, on what was our 4th attempt at a season opener and 7th rainout so far this season. Just wanted to come on and get some information out!
For the continuation of 5/17/2025 - lineups will be held for one more week, for the 5/31/2025 event. At this event, if a driver does not attend who was orignally on the line up from 5/17, they will be given DNS points (15) toward the championship hunt but will be given WIN PLUS 1 handicap. This is to be fair to the drivers who came back who were in the line up. All cars who were not on the originall line up will start behind the cars in the held lineups. After 5/31, if Mother Nature cannot get her act together, we will be doing a new draw and completely scratch the held line ups.
Wristbands and tickets from 5/17/2025 - these will be accepted at the 5/31/25 event and any of the events in the month of June. After that, they will no longer be accepted.
Hoosier Tire Burnoff Period - the burnoff period ENDS on May 31, 2025. This is the last event they are allowed at the AMP this season. The burnoff period, per the rules, was through the month of May. We cannot control the weather, and are not going to continue or extend the deadline. We are an American racer track, and it is American Racer who contributes to our driver point funds - NOT Hoosier.
Lastly, we cannot control the weather. As much as want to race, there just has been no stop to this weather lately and we are along for the ride along with everyone else. This isn’t just hurting fans, drivers, and crews - but us too! We are taking donations however to build a dome over the track so we can race year long! Joking aside, we want to thank each and every race team that has worked so hard to bring their car to us each week and hope to see you soon. And thanks to Ron & Mike Ford for their continued hard work day in and day out, regardless of not racing, to get things ready and the best it can be for our supporters, fans, and teams alike.
We will try again next week!

RAINED OUT, AGAIN.
5/17/2025 - We held on as long as we could, but had to call it. After doing a drivers meeting, it was decided to end the nights activities and not try to work the track with the race cars.
Stay tuned for further updates regarding next weekend.
Line ups will remain the same unless any major changes happen, and any new cars will be tagged to the heats.
We thank everyone for the support and thank you to the fans, drivers, and crews for sticking with us in which has been the worst year for rainouts in 10 years.

Yet again.. we are rained out.
Practice scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th is canceled due to the significant amount of rain that has fallen over the past few days.
We will regroup and see what the rest of the week brings before giving any updates on this weekend.
Thanks to all our dedicated racers, crews, and fans for sticking out this watery season with us.
Stay tuned for news on opening night.
Per the 2025 Rule Book - Transponders are required for 𝘼𝙇𝙇 classes.
Lineups, fast times, positions, and who has left the track are just a few examples of why we are requiring them for all classes this season. PLUS it makes for a better fan experience for those utilizing live Race Monitor, Speedhive, or those watching on The Cushion. Without a transponder, you are not visible on any of the apps or the scoring computer - and have to be manually put into all lineups, finishes, and creates added time between races. Quick and efficient shows are what we have thrived on in the last few seasons and look forward to continuing that this season.
Drivers - please ensure your transponder is charged, and on the car before hot laps. Scoring will notify each driver via the one way radio if there is no transponder present. This will be your one and only warning each night is during hot laps! Any car in a heat or feature event without a transponder will not be scored.
Note - you can SHARE transponders! For simplicity sake, transponders can be shared between classes. I.E. - a modified car can have transponder XYZ, and can be switched to a crate car (with same transponder number XYZ) and come across as the updated driver. Division is what differentiates drivers, so if you have family or friends in other classes, share the cost! Do NOT share between heats or within the same division, all this does is create more work to change name and number, plus come feature time...one of you won't be scored! Transponders do not just help the scoring team, the officials, and fans.. but YOU! It is the only way to ensure you will be scored correctly - as long as you have it charged or plugged in! 😉
REMINDER TO ALL DRIVERS

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

4/26/2025 PRACTICE - WE TRIED, YOU TRIED
Thank you to everyone who came out today, braved the elements, and helped us try to get this practice in. We tried so hard, and so did everyone who came today battling the conditions in the pits and water. We will honor wrist bands at the next event, which after driver consensus tonight we will be doing an open practice on May 3rd and push the opener by one week. We will try again next weekend - remember to keep your wristbands from today for Saturday, May 3rd practice! Our season opener will now be held on May 10th, 2025!

PRACTICE IS CANCELED FOR 4/19/25

ATTENTION RACE TEAMS
We are making the difficult decision to cancel this weekends practice. As much as we would love to see cars on the track, it is just not ready and will not be up to our standards to let you all on it. With the weather not cooperating and not having the proper time due work in the new surface, we are setting our sights on next weekend - Saturday, April 26th.
We hope this decision came early enough for anyone who wants to make contingency plans for the weekend & we look forward to unveiling next weekend a surface we can all be happy with!
RF Promotions and the Afton Motorsports Park are proud to be back in Afton after a year off and have had a lot of work to do. The speedway has been upgraded with a new MyLaps timing system, TWO lap counters, water trucks, wreckers, a generator, upgraded concessions, new signage, and dedication to Mitch Gibbs grandstands! Thanks to all the supporters!
